EFCC Arrests 2 Suspected ‘Yahoo boys’ at Musical Artiste Skales House

EFCC Apprehends Two Suspected Internet Fraudsters at Skales’ Residence

Lagos, Nigeria – In a recent development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed the arrest of two individuals on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, suspected of involvement in internet fraud. The operation, conducted by EFCC operatives from the Lagos Command, led to the apprehension of Udemba Chukwuemeka, known as “Jody,” and Jamal Jamiu Onasola, known as “Jamal.”

The suspects were taken into custody at House F10, located in Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos, which also happens to be the residence of the renowned musician John Njeng Njeng, widely recognized as Skales.

According to the EFCC statement, the arrested individuals are believed to be associated with a dating scam and have reportedly referred to John Njeng Njeng as their ‘mentor.’ Chukwuemeka had been residing in Njeng’s home for a duration of two years, while Onasola had been there for a shorter period.

The EFCC further stated that the suspects will face legal charges as soon as their involvement is thoroughly investigated.

In response to the incident, Skales, the popular singer, expressed his concerns over what he described as an alleged invasion of his residence by EFCC officials. However, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, swiftly refuted these claims in an exclusive phone conversation with PUNCH Online. Oyewale emphasized that EFCC personnel do not conduct operations in such a manner, dismissing the allegations made by the musician.
