Nigerian Army Rescues 17 Kidnap Victims in Daring Operation
In a commendable display of bravery and effectiveness, the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadarin Daji recently executed a series of successful rescue operations, liberating 17 kidnapped victims and recovering rustled cattle.
Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, representing the Force Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, released a statement detailing the heroic efforts of the troops on September 14, 2023. Their actions thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued two individuals, along with a commercial vehicle transporting essential food supplies in Zamfara State’s Shinkafi Local Government Area.
During a routine patrol, troops stationed at Forward Operating Base Danjigba intercepted and liberated three kidnap victims who had been abducted from their farmlands and held captive in the Dangajeru forest.
Furthermore, on September 13, 2023, Operation Hadarin Daji’s troops in Zamfara State intercepted and successfully rescued eight kidnap victims in Baggega. Preliminary investigations unveiled that these individuals had endured captivity for eight agonizing weeks, managing to escape from Gando forest due to the recent offensive operation and the continuous vigilance of patrolling forces on the forest’s outskirts.
In another operation on September 12, 2023, acting on intelligence reports regarding the movement of a large number of rustled animals by bandits around Tsamiyar Gezozi in Anka Local Government Area, Zamfara State, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji sprang into action. They swiftly engaged the bandits, employing superior firepower, forcing the criminal elements to flee and abandon over 130 rustled animals.
These successful operations underscore the Nigerian Army’s commitment to securing the lives and property of citizens, restoring peace to troubled regions, and dealing a decisive blow to criminal elements operating within the country.
