Man Arrested in Lagos State for Sexually Molesting his Two Sons who are 3 and 7 years-old Respectively
In a solemn courtroom proceeding on Tuesday, a 38-year-old man, identified as Afeez Gbadamosi, faced arraignment before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court, orchestrated by the Lagos State Government. Gbadamosi stands accused of committing the heinous act of sexually molesting his two underage sons, aged three and seven.
The charges leveled against him include four counts of sexual assault and indecent behavior, meticulously drafted by the state’s prosecuting counsel, Abimbola Abolade. According to Abolade, the disturbing incident unfolded sometime between 2021 and 2022 within the confines of the Iyanamuda area of Agric in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The prosecution argued that the defendant had, in an unfathomable betrayal of trust, sexually assaulted his young sons by inserting his finger into their anus. Furthermore, Gbadamosi is alleged to have indecently touched their genitals, pressed their buttocks, and, shockingly, exposed them to the spectacle of his intimate relations with his wife.
These grave accusations are in violation of Sections 261 and 264 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, as outlined by the prosecutor.
Despite the weight of the allegations, Gbadamosi entered a plea of not guilty to the charges. In response, the defendant’s counsel, O.O. Oladipupo, implored the court to consider granting bail to her client under lenient terms.
Justice Abiola Sholadoye, presiding over the case, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre while he seeks to meet the requirements for bail. The case has been adjourned to November 20, 2023, when it will proceed to trial, unveiling the somber chapter in the ongoing quest for justice and accountability.
