Man Murders His Pregnant Wife, Father-in-Law Puts Bounty on Him
Samuel Adun, a heartbroken father, has taken a bold step in his pursuit of justice by announcing a cash reward of N100,000 for anyone possessing crucial information that could aid in the apprehension of his son-in-law, known only as Inuaghata. The latter stands accused of the gruesome murder of his pregnant wife, Osaretin.During a press conference held in Benin on Friday, Adun, visibly devastated, revealed that his daughter had borne three children with the suspect. Recounting the tragic event that transpired on May 24, he expressed bewilderment over the circumstances leading to his daughter’s untimely demise, lamenting his lack of comprehension regarding the couple’s underlying issues.”My daughter, aged 23, was brutally killed by her husband in Egba,” Adun said, representing Orhionmwon Local Government Area. “I received a distressing phone call informing me of her murder. He callously slit her throat with a knife, a cruel act that claimed the life of both my daughter and her unborn child. I implore authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrator.”In an attempt to aid the ongoing investigation, Adun extended his plea to the public, offering a substantial sum of N100,000 to anyone who possesses information that could lead to Inuaghata’s arrest. The bereaved father emphasized that his daughter and the suspect had not formalized their marriage, as Inuaghata’s parents had already passed away. He also revealed that the accused had gone into hiding immediately following the incident, urging his brother and others with knowledge of Inuaghata’s whereabouts to come forward.When contacted for comment, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed that the case had not yet been brought to his attention. Authorities are likely to intensify their efforts to apprehend the fugitive and ensure that justice is served for the victims in this heartbreaking tragedy.
