Fire Engulfs The ICT Unit of The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)
A minor fire incident occurred at the server room of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). According to a statement released by the Director of Information and Communication, FCT, Malam Muhammad Sule, the fire was caused by an electric power surge on Thursday, May 18th, at approximately 8 pm.The fire, which had a partial impact on the server room, was swiftly brought under control within 15 minutes through the collaborative efforts of the Federal and FCT fire services, as well as the security personnel on duty.In light of the incident, the Administration reassures its clientele that the daily operations will remain unaffected due to the presence of adequate redundancy measures. Therefore, there is no cause for concern as the incident will not impede the smooth functioning of the ICT Unit or any other administrative activities.Furthermore, the Administration takes this opportunity to commend the timely response and action of the dedicated officers from the FCT and Federal Fire Service, whose prompt intervention played a crucial role in mitigating the situation.
