In a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos, spokesperson for the President-elect, Mr. Tunde Rahman, announced that Sen. Bola Tinubu had congratulated Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun on his Supreme Court victory. The President-elect urged the governor to quickly work towards uniting the state, now that the apex court has given its verdict on the Osun governorship tussle, adding that everyone should respect the judgment. Tinubu also praised the immediate-past governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, for his conduct during his first term and for deepening democracy by pursuing his democratic rights peacefully to the end. He commended Oyetola for his efficient, transparent, and accountable governance while in office, and noted that despite losing the office, he had not lost his integrity and reputation. Tinubu urged Adeleke to get to work immediately and build on the foundation laid by the former governor, while also advising him to work towards uniting the state. He called on the people of Osun to work towards peace and progress in the state.
