JUST IN: Police nab notorious robbers who killed trader in Ogun market invasion
Three members of a robbery syndicate, Ajayi Kayode, Habeeb Idowu, and Temitayo Oresanya, have been arrested by the police command in Ogun State. The suspects were allegedly involved in the invasion of the phone market in Abeokuta, where they killed a trader and stole several high-value phones on April 12.According to SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Spokesman, the suspects were apprehended following a tip-off received by policemen attached to Kemta divisional headquarters. They were found hiding at Abule Ake area of Kemta in Abeokuta.While two of the suspects have confessed their participation in the robbery incident, Temitayo Oresanya, the third suspect, claimed that although he is a member of the same cult group as them, he did not participate in the robbery. He stated that Ajayi Kayode and Habeeb Idowu came to his house at Abule Ake to hide from the police after the robbery.The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, commended members of the public for their cooperation in providing useful information to the police, and ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation. He also directed that the remaining members of the gang be tracked down and brought to justice.
